What is the Rice Purity Test?
The Rice Purity Test is a 100-question self-graded survey that measures your level of innocence based on your life experiences. Originally created at Rice University in Houston, Texas, it has been used since the 1980s as a social bonding tool during college orientation week (O-Week).
Each question asks whether you have done a particular thing β from holding hands romantically to more adult experiences. You check off everything that applies. Your final score is 100 minus the number of boxes checked. A score of 100 means completely innocent; a score of 0 means you've done everything on the list.
The test gained massive popularity online and went viral on TikTok and Reddit, where millions of students compare scores with friends. It is meant purely for entertainment β it is not a psychological evaluation, and there is no "good" or "bad" score.
